Andy Rioux
General Manager
Andy Rioux has over 27 years experience in the golf industry, and has been a member of the PGA since 1992. Rioux spent 6 years with Marriott Golf in various operational positions including Head Golf Professional at Marriott’s Lincolnshire Golf Resort. He joined American Golf in 1994 and was appointed General Manager at several Phoenix area facilities including Stonecreek, Superstition Springs, and The Legend at Arrowhead. In 2000 Rioux moved on to In Celebration of Golf Management where he spent 14 years as the Vice President of Operations overseeing up to as many as 10 golf facilities. In February of 2014, Rioux assumed the role of General Manager of Legend Trail Golf Club.

Brent Smith
Director of Instruction
Brent Smith began his professional golf career at Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A Resort in Missouri in 1991, serving as Assistant Golf Professional and Tournament Director before relocating in 1992 to hold the same positions at The Golf Club of Marco in Marco Island, Florida. Later that year, he joined the staff of John Jacobs’ Golf Schools and has traveled extensively helping to establish Jacobs’ teaching sites in New Jersey, New York, Florida, Alabama, California and Arizona.
Brent’s instructional articles have been featured in Golf Digest magazine and other publications, and has also appeared on various TV and radio golf instruction programs. In 2002, Brent was named by Golf Digest as one of the top 10 instructors in the state of Arizona and the top 100 in the country. He has been the Director of Instruction for John Jacobs’ Golf Schools and Academies at Legend Trail in Scottsdale, Arizona since 2004.

Mike Scalise
Food & Beverage Manager
With a distinguished history in Golf’s Food and Beverage industry, Mike has over 30 years of experience in Catering Sales/Service and Food and Beverage management. He has worked for the Scottsdale Princess, Scottsdale Conference Resort, Orange Tree Golf Resort, ASU Karsten and Arizona Country Club. Married to his wife Amy for 22 years, they enjoy their two children, daughter Bailey and son Sean.

Jon Gatewood
Director of Golf
Jon Gatewood has over 14 years experience in the golf industry. Gatewood started in golf while in high school at Orange Tree Golf Resort as a cart washer/range picker. He continued working at Orange Tree while playing golf in college gaining various positions along the way. Then in 2007, Gatewood took advantage of an opportunity to play professionally. While competing on mini tours, Gatewood worked his way through various positions including First Assistant and Service Manager. In 2012 he left Orange Tree to work at Legend Trail Golf Club. In early 2014, at the age of 29, Gatewood earned the role of Director of Golf. Gatewood is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics.

Kevin Bradley
Golf Course Superintendent
Having over 25 years experience in the golf industry, and a member of our local Cactus and Pine Golf Course Superintendants Association. Kevin is a graduate of Rutgers University, his work experience includes Fountain Hills Golf Course, Tatum Ranch Golf Club, Arizona Country Club and totaling over 11 years at The Boulders Resort as Assistant Director of Golf and Grounds. Professional Tournament experience includes the 1999 US Amateur hosted at Pebble Beach Golf Links and the 2000 Presidents Cup hosted at the Robert Trent Jones Course in Lake Manassas, Va. Kevin has been superintendant at Legend Trail Golf Club since July, 2013.

Cindy Naftzger
Controller
Cindy has been working in golf course accounting for 20 years. In 1995 Cindy was appointed the position of Property Controller with Troon Golf where she spent 9 years filling various accounting roles. Cindy came to Legend Trail with Troon Golf in 1999 and has been here ever since overseeing daily accounting, and logistics during multiple ownership changes. She has been an associate of Scottsdale Golf Group for 11 years.
